Both Chemi-Smart systems have outstanding large-aperture
camera lens for optimum light transmission. The optics
of the Chemi-Smart 5000 is based on an extremely bright
fixed lens with an f-stop of 0.95.
Unlike the ordinary camera lens, it has been especially
designed to provide high performance at very short distances
without extra lenses (minimum distance : 0.2m).
The distance between the sample and the lens depends on
the size of the membrane. Thanks to this genius tray system,
the chemiluminescence sample is always as close as possible
to the optics in order to maximize the light transmittance.
The light intensity varies with the squared distance:
the closer the sample, the lower the integration time
and the better the image. The Chemi-Smart 3000 has a motorized
zoom with an efficient f-stop of 1.0. The zoom is fully
computer controlled.
An exclusive lens feed back system records the aperture,
the zoom and the focus for GLP purposes. The zoom lens
is a good compromise for versatile application such as
fluorescence, chemiluminescence and chemi-fluorescence.
